Carli Human has joined Sonata One as Director of Operations and a member of our Executive Committee.
Carli will lead client service across our global network of more than 53,000 investors, 6,500 funds and 180 managers, overseeing the teams supporting managers and investors.
Technology first, live support built in
Carli’s appointment comes as we roll out our latest technology, connecting the end-to-end private markets investor journey. Based in our operational hub in Cape Town, she will lead the teams delivering the human service wrapped around the technology, making 24/5 instant live support a cornerstone of the investor experience.
Embedded directly in the platform, it gives investors immediate access to our team through chat, voice and video. Carli will also drive the use of AI across teams, automating routine work and freeing teams to focus on responsive service and proactive outreach at critical moments in the fund closing process.
Proven operational leadership
A qualified attorney, Carli brings more than 15 years’ experience across legal, governance and operational leadership. She has led multi-jurisdictional teams and driven transformation across the private markets industry, including using AI and automation to improve efficiency.
Most recently, she held senior operational and corporate services roles at Apex, supporting clients across multiple international financial centres.
Carli Human said:
“Coming from a fund administration background, I’ve experienced how private markets operations can become fragmented across jurisdictions, particularly when legal, governance and compliance processes sit across multiple providers. We bring the whole workflow together, connecting managers and investors through a single platform across the fund lifecycle. Our ‘One and Done’ model allows investors to reuse verified profiles across investments, streamlining repeat commitments, while integrated legal, compliance and tax services provide continuity from onboarding through ongoing servicing.
It’s exciting to be joining a business that’s truly bringing people and technology together to address a longstanding industry problem, and I’m pleased to bring my experience to bear as we continue to evolve our operating model and support a growing network of managers and investors.”
Supporting growth
Tim Andrews, CEO, said:
“We’re delighted to welcome Carli to Sonata One to lead client service as we take the human support around our platform to a new level. That means live support 24/5, more proactive outreach to investors at critical moments and a seamless service across day and night, backed by our legal, tax and compliance expertise.
Carli brings deep operational experience across private funds, as well as a strong track record of leading teams through change and using technology to improve service. Her leadership will be instrumental in delivering a consistently high level of support as we continue to grow.”
