Sonata One lands in Luxembourg, making it simpler to raise capital in Europe

Thu, 30 Jul, 2026

Sonata One has landed in Luxembourg, establishing a local office with a sizeable team of private markets specialists across compliance, transfer agency and investor servicing.

The move marks a major milestone in our growth as we work towards regulatory authorisation in one of the world’s leading private funds jurisdictions. It also reflects our commitment to supporting our clients as a trusted globally compliant partner across all key private funds jurisdictions including Luxembourg, the Channel Islands, the Cayman Islands and the US.

Making Luxembourg simpler
Luxembourg sits at the heart of European private markets fundraising, but for many managers it still means multiple providers, fragmented systems and a disjointed experience for their investors.

Sonata One solves that. Built on our own proprietary technology, we bring the end-to-end investor journey together in one platform, underpinned by a one and done global investor passport and backed by 24/5 live support.

Subject to regulatory approval, our Luxembourg business will provide fund subscription, KYC, FATCA/CRS and ongoing AML Officer support, while serving as the home of Sonata One’s new transfer agency service. By bringing transfer agency together with the investor data already held within our platform, we extend the value of our investor passport across the full fund lifecycle, helping managers operating through Luxembourg streamline fundraising and compliance, accelerate capital calls and distributions and gain a clearer view of their investor base.

Investing for the long term
Leading the Luxembourg operation is Mark Coppin, Managing Director, Luxembourg. Mark brings more than 30 years’ experience in asset management and private funds. Having joined Sonata One in 2024 to build our transfer agency capability, he is relocating to Luxembourg to lead the regulatory authorisation process and drive the continued growth of the local team.

Mark Coppin says:

“Luxembourg is one of the world’s most important private markets hubs and we’re excited to be building our presence here. As managers continue to raise capital across more jurisdictions, they need partners that simplify complexity rather than add to it. By combining local expertise with Sonata One’s technology platform, we’re helping managers streamline fundraising and fund operations while delivering a better experience for investors.”

Tim Andrews, CEO, adds:

“Managers raising capital across jurisdictions shouldn’t have to stitch together multiple providers, request the same investor data or navigate different standards at every stage of the fund lifecycle. Sonata One brings it all together through one platform, with one Investor Passport and now a fully integrated Transfer Agency service. Establishing an office with a sizeable local team in Luxembourg is a major milestone in our global growth strategy, strengthening our ability to help managers raise capital faster, stay compliant and deliver a seamless experience for their investors wherever they raise and manage funds.”
